John Maize, Jr., MD
John Maize, Jr., MD is a graduate of the School of Medicine of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. After completion of an internship in internal medicine at Wake Forest University-Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, he went on to residency training in dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. There, he served as chief resident during his final year of training.
Following dermatology residency, he completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center under the tutelage of Drs. Philip LeBoit and Timothy McCalmont. His areas of interest include melanocytic neoplasms and connective tissue diseases. Dr. Maize currently lives with his wife and children in South Carolina, and works with his father at the Dermpath Diagnostics Maize Center for Dermatopathology. He is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina, and is actively involved in teaching both dermatology residents and dermatopathology fellows from the Medical University.
